I don't think this is going to work in the end. One way or another Democrats and responsible Republicans are going to get their January 6 Commission, whether it's through President Biden appointing one, perhaps the Attorney General appoints one, or they find a few more responsible Senate Republicans who care more about their country then getting reelected or having Mitch McConnell as their Majority Leader.

Trump is set to return to the campaign trail to help Republicans win control of the House and the Senate in the 2022 midterm elections as he considers whether to mount a third presidential campaign."
As someone who lost this Facebook page last year (for reasons that were never given to me) I sort of know what Ex-President Donald Trump is going through essentially being kicked off of mainstream social media. (Except for Instagram) But if he wants to be heard, there are plenty of Alt-Right-Tea Party publications that I'm sure would give him a weekly column, if he wants to do that.

It's easy to be against the Senate filibuster before you are in favor of it and vice-versa. Congressional Republicans were against the filibuster when they were in the majority and had The White House and now they're in favor of it now they they are out of power in Washington.
Democrats freaked out any possible Republican reforms to the filibuster when Democrats were in the minority and now they have a united government (Congress and The White House) they want to end the filibuster to make it easier for them to govern.

Ederik Schneider: "Pre-MLK, African-Americans could be denied the ability to vote, to work, to get loans, get an education, simply because of their race and complexion. 3/5 African-Americans lived in poverty before his movement. That's all changed since. Not talking about utopia, but progress."
5/11/2022 - Ederik Schneider - I don't want to call what the Senate Democrats did today on Roe V. Wade a waste of time, for the simple reason that they obviously need to charge up their base if they have any hope of retaining control of Congress, including the Senate in 2022. But for them and House Democrats to do what they really want to do, Democrats need to vote in a huge way this year and then pass their bill in the next Congress.
NBC News: "The Senate failed to advance a Democratic-led bill Wednesday that would enshrine broad protections for legal abortion nationwide, a vote triggered by a leaked Supreme Court draft opinion that indicates Roe v. Wade will likely be overturned.
The Women's Health Protection Act, which has passed the House, won 49 votes, falling far short of the 60 senators needed to break a filibuster.
All 50 Republicans and Sen. Joe Manchin, D-W.Va., voted against proceeding to debate. The vote was 49-51.
Moments before the vote, a group of House lawmakers appeared at the Senate side of the Capitol building and chanted "my body, my decision!" as they walked along the halls outside the chamber.
Democratic leaders saw the vote as an opportunity to lay down a marker ahead of midterm elections in November as their party faces fierce headwinds, from President Joe Biden's negative approval ratings to voter concerns about inflation. Strategists in the party hope to persuade the sizable majority of Americans who want to uphold Roe v. Wade to vote Democrat."

5/15/2022 - Ederik Schneider: Far-Right, nationalist, terrorism, is alive and well in America. Their theory is that European-Americans are being replaced by non-Europeans and therefor these Far-Rightists need to fight back and eliminate non-Europeans, like African-Americans in America.
NBC News: "A manifesto allegedly written and posted by the suspect in a mass shooting at a Buffalo supermarket that killed 10 people laid out specific plans to attack Black people and repeatedly cited the “great replacement" theory, the false idea that a cabal is attempting to replace white Americans with nonwhite people through immigration, interracial marriage and, eventually, violence...
These polls in favor of abortion rights, means nothing, if Democrats, especially left-wing Democrats, don't vote in 2022.
NBC News: "Support for abortion rights has reached a record high, and nearly two-thirds of Americans oppose the U.S. Supreme Court overturning Roe v. Wade, according to a new national NBC News poll conducted after the leak of a draft opinion that would strike down the constitutional right to abortion.
What’s more, the survey finds abortion climbing up the list of issues that Americans believe are the most important, and that Democratic interest in the upcoming midterms has increased since earlier this year.
But the poll also found that this Supreme Court draft opinion hasn’t substantially altered the overall political environment heading into November’s elections — with inflation and the economy remaining the public’s top issues, President Joe Biden’s job rating falling below 40 percent and a whopping 75 percent of Americans saying the country is headed in the wrong direction."
7/05/2022 - Ederik Schneider: At some point in 2013 or 14, I commented on a YouTube video about Professor Milton Friedman and wrote: "The breaking point of taxes is where it discourages people not to work hard and be successful. Because they know that government will get so much of that money. And as a result a lot of people end up being dependent of government to make ends meet."

Ederik Schneider: Oh, Jamie Raskin, you are such a sweet guy. But I think Lauren Boebert is just that stupid. Or perhaps that crazy and insulting. I guess she could be stupid, crazy, and insulting.
